The stones arguably one of the biggest bands ever have very much lived up to their mantra of – not getting any satisfaction.

They have gathered plenty of moss over the years but the Stones are still rolling as they ­celebrate the band’s 50th birthday.

It’s hard to believe Keith Richards is the youngest original member at 68.His wild living sex drugs and rock n roll life style reads like a road map with of lines and wrinkles all showing his hard partying life style.

Sir Mick Jagger, also 68, is still going strong maybe with the little help from a small blue pill.

Drummer Charlie Watts, who battled throat cancer in 2004, is the oldest current member at 71.

Bill Wyman, 75, left in 1992 but is said to be ready to rejoin for reunion gigs this year.

Ex-guitarist Mick Taylor, who left after five years in 1974, is 63, and his replacement Ronnie Wood (joined in 1975) is 64.

The band began in June 1962 after Mick and Keith, who met at school in Kent, responded to an ad placed in Jazz News by original guitarist Brian Jones, who died at 27 in 1969.

So what is their secret why have they made it so long in an industry that chomps its way through young talent like a fat guy at  a buffet?

Well I think its luck more than judgment.

Here is a list of those that have not been so lucky their suspicious deaths have been the result of strange circumstance and bizarre behavior let’s see the top ten and how it could have gone for The Stones.

10. Glenn Miller: December 15, 1944

Famous big band leader of the Glenn Miller Orchestra and jazz musician Glenn Miller disappeared in the English Channel en route to entertain U.S. troops on December 15, 1944.

Slated to travel from the United Kingdom to Paris, France, Miller, along with his plane, disappeared while flying through the English Channel. No trace of Miller, other passengers or the plan has been recovered, thus leading to his status as being missing in action

According to official reports, the plane simply crashed into the channel. This conclusion did not prevent other theories from surfacing, ranging from English gunner Clarence B. Wolfe claiming that he shot down Miller’s plane, to Lieutenant Colonel Huton Downs, who was a former personal staff member of Dwight D. Eisenhower, stated that the U.S. government covered up Miller’s death after enlisting Miller, who spoke German, to convince German officers to bring an early end to the war. There’s also the theory that Miller’s plane had been hit by bombs by the Royal Air Force after raid on Siegen, Germany.

9. Brian Jones: July 3, 1969

1969 was not a good year for the Rolling Stones’ founding member Brian Jones. His power in the band had been diminished and Jones had been living in Sussex, England, when he was found dead in his swimming pool. His official cause of death is “death by misadventure,” though some reports state that there were no illegal drugs in his system.

In 1999, Jones’ girlfriend, Anna Wohlin claimed that Jones had been murdered by Frank Thorogood, a builder who had been working on the property at the time. Thorogood had reportedly admitting to murdering Jones shortly before he died in 1993.

Janet Lawson, who had found Brian Jones in the pool, later came out and said her statement from the incident was “a pack of lies.” Lawson also said that when she went into the house to fetch Jones’ inhaler, “Frank jumped back in the pool,” who Jones allegedly fired earlier that day, “did something to Brian and by the time I came back, Brian was lying peacefully on the bottom of the pool with not a ripple of water.”

8. Tupac Shakur: September 13, 1996

On September 7, 1996, rapper Tupac Shakur was shot in a drive-by shooting at 11:15 p.m. after attending a boxing match in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shakur suffered multiple gun wounds and died six days later on September 13, 1996, at the University Medical Center.

Though no one was ever convicted of murdering Tupac, there was much speculation surrounding the possibility of rapper Notorious B.I.G.‘s involvement in the murder via ties to the Crips, though the rapper denied these claims. There have also been unverified sightings of Tupac Shakur years after his death, accompanied with claims that the rapper is alive after all.

More recently, inmate Dexter Isaac has confessed to being paid to kill Tupac Shakur by James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond on June 15, one day before Tupac’s 40th birthday. Isaac also confessed to shooting the rapper during a robbery in 1994, which has been said to have fueled the rift between Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. In his statement, Isaac said “In 1994, James Rosemond hired me to rob Tupac Shakur at the Quad Studio. He gave me $2,500, plus all the jewelry I took.” Though no one can legally be prosecuted for the assault, it is believed that Isaac’s confession may lead investigators to solve the murder of the rapper.

7. Kurt Cobain: April 8, 1994

Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain was found dead in his Lake Washington home by Gary Smith, a Veca Electric employee who came to install lighting. According to the police report, Cobain was “laying on the floor, with a shotgun across his body, and a visible head wound.” Cobain’s death was considered suicide.

Since the incident, many theories have surfaced as to what caused the death of Kurt Cobain, including the one that says the late rocker had been murdered, possibly by his wife, Courtney Love. One of the most prominent figures of this theory is Tom Grant, a private investigator hired by Love after Cobain disappeared from rehab. Grant’s main points of evidence to suggest that Cobain was murdered are Cobain’s levels of heroin in his bloodstream being 1.52 milligrams per liter, which Grant argued prevented Cobain from being able to shoot himself. Fingerprints found on the shotgun that was found on the scene had no legible prints.

Filmmaker Nick Broomfield interviewed multiple people connected to Kurt Cobain, including El Duce of the Mentors. El Duce claimed that Love had paid him $50,000 to kill Kurt Cobain and knew who committed the crime, though he did not give a name or provide any supporting evidence.

Since 1994, many other investigations have been launched, documentaries have been filmed and books have been published on the uncertainties surrounding Cobain’s death, though most efforts have created inconclusive results.

6. Michael Jackson: June 25, 2009

Two years since the death of pop legend Michael Jackson, there is still confusion as to how Jackson died and if there are any perpetrators responsible for his death.

It’s been ruled that the combination of Propofol, an anesthetic and Lorazepam, an anti-anxiety drug killed Jackson, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner office. Consequently, Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, was charged with involuntary manslaughter for providing Jackson with the drugs. Ed Chernoff, Murray’s attorney, said that Jackson “gave himself the fatal dose of surgical anesthesia while the doctor was not watching.”

Jackson’s sister, LaToya Jackson, had made statements supporting the theory that her brother’s death was a conspiracy. In an interview with CNN, she said that Jackson “told me that they were going to murder him.” When asked who “they” is referring to, she replied with the identification of “the people that were controlling him.”

Conrad Murray is awaiting trial this September. According to Michael Pastor, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, the delay is essential to assure that Murray gets a fair trial, stating that “they needed time to consult additional experts in microbiology, pharmacokinetics and possibly even veterinary medicine to understand what exactly happened in Jackson’s body,” according to the LA Times.

5. Jam Master Jay: October 30, 2002

Run DMC member Jam Master Jay was shot and killed inside his music studio at 7:30 p.m. (local time) in Queens, New York on October 30, 2002 by two gunmen.

In 2007, prosecutors identified Ronald Washington as an accomplice in the 2002 murder. According to court documents, Washington “pointed his gun at those present in the studio, ordered them to get on the ground and provided cover for his associated to shoot and kill Jason Mizell,” more famously known as Jam Master Jay.

Washington has also been connected to the murder of Randy Walker as a suspect. Walker was an associate of the late Tupac Shakur.

4. Elvis Presley: August 16, 1977

The King was found unresponsive on his bathroom by his girlfriend, Ginger Alden. Presley was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, with the cause of death being declared cardiac arrhythmia.

Since then, though, there have been various conspiracy theories that Elvis is not dead, but is still alive and has been allegedly sighted by fans. After his death in 1977, tabloids “ran articles covering the continuing ‘life’ of Presley in great detail, including a broken leg from a motorcycle accident, all the way up to his purported ‘real death’ in the mid 1990s,” according to The Telegraph.

3. Bobby Fuller: July 18, 1966

Known for penning the famous song, “I Fought the Law,” American rock singer Bobby Fuller was found dead in a car outside his apartment Hollywood, shortly after “I Fought the Law” became a hit on the Top 10 charts.

According to reports, areas of Fuller’s body, including his face and chest, had petechial hemorrhages on them, possibly resulting from the combination heat and gas fumes. The police report stated that Fuller “was found lying face down in front seat of car: a gas can, 1/3 full, cover open; windows were rolled up and doors shut, not locked; keys not in ignition.”

Though his cause of death was confirmed as accidental asphyxia, there has been mystery and confusion surrounding Fuller’s death, although not much has surfaced since 1966.

2. Jim Morrison: July 3, 1971

Iconic Doors frontman Jim Morrison died in a Paris apartment bathtub. Because there was no suspected foul play, no autopsy was performed. This has resulted in many unanswered questions surrounding Morrison’s death.

Many possible causes have been discussed, ranging from longtime girlfriend Pamela Courson’s theory that Morrison died of a heroin overdose to the idea that he died from choking on his own vomit. In 2007, Sam Bernett, who at one point wrote for the New York Times, claimed that “Morrison died of a massive heroin overdose in the toilet of a nightclub” that Bernett managed at the time, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus.

Bernett also sated that “the death was then covered up by two drug dealers who transferred Morrison’s body from the club to the singer’s apartment and dumped it in the bath,” according to The Daily Mail.

1. Notorious B.I.G.: March 9, 1997

Rap mainstay Notorious B.I.G. was shot four times in the chest and murdered on March 9, 1997, when he was on his way home after a party at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The rapper was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical where he was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m.

After fourteen years, Notorious B.I.G.’s murder remains unsolved, though some reports linked his death with that of Tupac Shakur’s, due to similarities in the shooting circumstances.

Though no one has been convicted, there have been many speculations on who murdered Notorious B.I.G. Author Randall Sullivan accused Death Row Records co-founder Marion Knight of conspiring with an LAPD officer and others to kill B.I.G. in attempts to continue the East-West Coast rap rivalry.

The FBI released its files from their investigation on Notorious B.I.G.’s death online earlier this year, after “a federal judge last year dismissed a wrongful-death suit filed by Wallace’s family against the city of Los Angeles charging that officials covered up police involvement in the rapper’s slaying,” according to the LA Times.
