The eater eaten, Frankenfoods a danger?

Monsanto is more dangerous than all of Wallstreet combined

Transgenic technologies (GMO) are something that many do not like the idea of, have a read of some of the freakish practices which scientists along with the big seed companies have been up to and you will not believe what they are trying.

Scientists start the process by soaking seeds or tissues in chemicals some toxic and or subject them to high radiation to purposefully cause random damage and genetic changes in their selected crop.  DNA damage causes many unknown effects that can produce new proteins, leading to new traits in these plants and animals.  These new plants or product as they like to name them (owning a living plant or animals genetic code is a slippery slope for another post) are not assessed for environmental impact.  They create these products with the plan to put these on your dinner table and feed the population!

These experiments have been carried out for many years with No opposition, no warning labels and no fear?

Mutation starts with genetic variation.  Mutations classified by changes in DNA affect what plants/animals express or alter the performance of a gene product. We can think about the DNA sequence of a gene as a sentence made up entirely of three-letter words. In the sequence, each three-letter word is a codon, specifying a single amino acid in a protein.

Mutation breeding is the process of inducing genetic variation in a crop through use of chemical treatment or radioactivity.  Chemicals like ethyl methane sulfonate (EMS), sodium azide (SA), N-nitroso-N-methylurea (NMU) are used to soak seeds or treat tissue or pollen in culture.  They induce random changes in DNA, usually single bases or small deletions. These changes alter the encoded protein, forming new proteins that may be more or less functional, or perhaps truncated or even not made at all.

These scientist and seed companies would like us to think that like nuclear power the green opposition is waning. They say that resistance to GM is starting to look outdated, hysterical and profoundly anti-human. People like Prince Charles and Zac Goldsmith, champions of ‘natural’ organic farming may be well-meaning but they forget they live in a world which cannot possibly feed itself even at current population levels using the techniques they espouse.

These are the very people that have openly spoken out against human population. They believe we are a cancer to this planet and our numbers should be lowered.GM would sure provide an easy means to achieve this.

Some of the crazy experiments have had adverse results; they have been reported on and are as follows:

Thousands of sheep, buffalo, and goats in India died after grazing on Bt cotton plants

Mice eating GM corn for the long term had fewer, and smaller, babies

More than half the babies of mother rats fed GM soy died within three weeks, and were smaller

Testicle cells of mice and rats on a GM soy change significantly

By the third generation, most GM soy-fed hamsters lost the ability to have babies

Rodents fed GM corn and soy showed immune system responses and signs of toxicity

Cooked GM soy contains as much as 7-times the amount of a known soy allergen

Soy allergies skyrocketed by 50% in the UK, soon after GM soy was introduced

The stomach lining of rats fed GM potatoes showed excessive cell growth, a condition that may lead to cancer.

Studies showed organ lesions, altered liver and pancreas cells, changed enzyme levels, etc.

The campaigners for these Franken foods say, “In an ideal world we would not need genetic modification at all. In an ideal world we would be eating fresh, locally grown produce that has been mucked around with as little as possible. But this is not an ideal world, as the sky-eyed idealists with the pitchforks and scythes would wish it to be. It is a hot, overcrowded world which is about to get hotter and even more overcrowded”.

The Institute for Science in Society (ISIS) believes introducing GMOs into any part of our lifestyle is a bad thing. ISIS claims GMOs haven’t delivered as promised with regard to crops, can cause contamination, and are making some farms unsafe with bacterial issues. Further, ISIS says all the DNA genetic engineering can produce super viruses, unwanted bacteria, and even cancer.

An example of this genetic engineering in food according to ISIS is “genes from an artic flounder which has antifreeze properties may be spliced into a tomato to prevent frost damage.” Genetic engineering or the use of GMO processes is not precise which can lead to unpredictable effects. Simply, the use of GMOs and if they are safe is something that requires more research.

In conclusion this issue is almost a no brainier, we are what we eat.Plants and animals have evolved over millions of years we have evolved along side them .The food we ingest has been processed by evolution to produce all the dietary needs for the human being. These plants and animals have evolved to part of their environment if they will not live or grow that is an indication of a problem with the environment and should be heeded .

Scientist say they can match this achievement in months or years when it took mother nature eons  to perfect. This shows their arrogance or their ignorance, which ever way you cut it. With out a significantly longer time frame to see the outcome of this genetic tinkering we could be poisoning ourselves and the planet.
